Development of the course

The course is based on frontal lessons, workshops, class exercises and students' presentations, usually requiring teamwork. It is characterized by the application of economic, mathematical and statistical methods to the management of internal labor market.  It analyses context of rational maximizing behavior and economic efficiency inside the firm.

 



Learning outcomes

1.    After completing the course, students will be able to understand the key issues and dimensions of human resources management inside firms. 
2.    Students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired  by  understanding the motivations that lead to a good relationship between the company and the workers.
3.    Practical applications on databases at firm level anddiscussions of different human resources policies which will take place during the course  will enable students to enhance their autonomy, and their skills in terms of communication, learning and critical approach.

2. Exercices
Empirical applications on firm level databases.
3. Other content
During the course, a visit to a firm known for the quality of their working relationship will be organized.

 



Development of the examination

1. The final exam is based on written tests, questions and exercises. 
2. Assessment criteria.
The final grade is, for 1/3,  based on the evaluation of group assigned exercises and on presentations  and, for 2/3, on the final written exam.
3.  Grading scale 
Positive grades: from 18 to 30. Cum laude can be bestowed  to outstanding performance
4. Grading method 
Knowledge of the main themes considered during the course, capalities in problem solving,
