Learning outcomes

1. Knowledge and Understanding
This course is designed to equip students with the foundation of practical and theoretical knowledge and skills necessary to understand the core areas of operations management.

2. Applying knowledge and  understanding
The ability to effectively manage a business includes a complete understandìng of the underlying operations and supply chain linkages.

3. Judgement, focus  and  communication skills
Exercises and class discussion will enhance the students’ ability to define the problems at hand



Program

Explore fundamental areas that are necessary to lead effective internai and supply chain operations, including operations strategy, forecasting, inventory management, capacity planning, constraint management, quality, lean systems, supply chain management, and supply chain risk. Learn and identify theories and concepts of process management, operations management, and supply chain management. Critically examine risks and ethics in operations and supply chain management. Understand the importance of matching supply chain design, process design, and product design to overall corporate strategy.

Written/oral

2. Assessment criteria.
Module Exercises that use OM Explorer (discussed below) or will involve a short write-up. These exercises are intended to enhance your learning of the module core topics in addition to the readings/lectures. Case study write ups and potentially an online simulation.

3. Grading scale
Pass  grades: from 18 to 30. Cum laude can be bestowed on outstanding performance
The final grade of Operations and Project Management will be an average of the two modules
