Development of the course

This course is a hands on action learning course consisting of a simulation and cases.



Learning outcomes

1. Knowledge and Understanding
The role of supply chain management and operations management within the firm; how process analysis can impact the effectiveness and efficiency of a firm; key tools that firms use in planning, managing, and scheduling within  their supply chain.

2. Applying knowledge and  understanding
Problem solving abilities applied in business logistic environment

3. Judgement, focus  and  communication skills
Ability to integrate managerial knowledge and handle tasks such specific research and business presentation



Program

OMLS - OMLS is a Windows based software program that is capable of simulating a variety of production environments. You will be responsible for making  all managerial decisions required to operate the production facility  for weekly  time intervals. The quality of your decisions will be reflected in the results file generated by the program.
Process Improvement Case - There will be a Process Improvement case study.
Supply Chain Management Paper - This Is a group project, Each group Is responsible for submitting a research paper on a topic of greatest interest to you within the area of supply chain management and operations management.   The goal of this assignment is not only to have you become more familiar  with a supply chain topic but also for you to research how this topic has provide d competitive advantage for various companies.



Development of the examination

1. This course is a hands-on action learning course consisting of a simulation and cases. Tests consists of essay and short answer questions.
2. Assessment criteria.
One exam and three projects
 
3. Grading scale
Positive grades from 18 to 30. Cum laude can be bestowed  to outstanding performance

4. Grading method
1° project 10 points, 2° and 3° 7.5  points, exam  5 points

No text will be used in this class. All materials will be provided by the professor
